Corrine HeckC.E.O., Event Manager

Corrine has worked in nearly every aspect of floral & event industry for over 15 years.  Her interest in flowers was early on, as she grew up in the business of dish gardens & plants with her family-owned nurseries of Bill Brown’s Greenhouses in Apopka, Florida.  As a girl, she spent mornings with her mom & dad selling African Violets at the Church Street Station Farmers Market in downtown Orlando.  Amongst the backdrop of a growing Orlando, she learned that small business was very much at the heart of America.  The University of Florida offered Corrine opportunities to enhance her love for event management & design.   She produced events for notable politicians and athletes and initiated an annual “Sorority/Fraternity of the Year” for outstanding service to the community while at UF that occurs annually even now.  After college, Corrine pursued her talent for floral design while working with Florists’ National Directory.  When she was offered a National Sales Account position for a blooming flower import company in Miami, she couldn’t say no to the opportunity.  Corrine learned the ‘ins and outs’ of flower brokering from some of the industries finest; she now brings in exotic blooms from South America, the Netherlands and Hawaii on a weekly demand.   In 2003, Corrine & Gregory opened Details in Daytona & Ormond Beach to offer local clients ‘big city’ flowers & photography.  Her experience and love for design brings clients far and near to work with her.  Corrine’s approach, integrity and spirit of excellence are unmatched.

What is Your Motto?
Work like you don’t need the money, Love like you have never been hurt, and Dance like nobody is watching.

What did you want to become when you were little?
When I was little, all I ever dreamed of being was a dolphin trainer at SeaWorld.  Like every little girl, I was amazed with dolphins.  And horses.  Beautiful creatures that need us as much as we need them.

What are you obsessed about?
Software.  I’ve been writing software for the floral & event industry since starting Details in 2003.  My obsessive tinkering has turned into a valuable tool for the industry.  I’m preoccupied with how our software will impact the future of the flower industry. We are making history here at Details.  The details are in bloom!

Who are your heroes?
My father, who passed in 2010, is still and will always be my hero.  I learned so much about life and living life in the years he was here with us as we witnessed his life; his joys, fears and moments.   His battle with Multiple Sclerosis made for a childhood experience unlike my friends.  It wasn’t picture perfect– but it has shaped and inspired my life in ways that I could not have imagined.  There is not a day that I don’t think about him and the legacy he left to me.

What is your favorite accomplishment?
My favorite accomplishment are my children.   We have three beautiful gifts from God, and I would be nothing without their love.  At the end of the day, I am so blessed to get to see them grow, and watch them become who they are meant to be.  It is a gift and I am very proud.

What makes you laugh?
My husband Greg is the funniest person I know.  We laugh at least twice everyday.   At least.  He’s quite the character and really keeps me on my toes.  His wit, humor and style are unlike any I’ve ever met.  I knew from the moment I met him that he was mine to love & laugh with for the rest of my life.

What do you like the most about the world of Flowers?
I love that flowers are present for every major occasion in life.  If an event is truly special, memorable or beautiful, flowers are there.  Flowers create memories.  Flowers make moments special.

Gregory HeckOwner, Lead Photographer

Greg is a native Floridian and feels blessed to be a photographer in one of our country’s most spectacular states.  While his travels have taken him half way around the world, he resides in Volusia County in the beachside community of Port Orange with Corrine and their 3 children. Greg has had a broad career in photography, from his free-lance days on the FSView newspaper to his photo-editor days shooting for magazines in South Florida. He’s photographed major sporting events, swimsuit calendars and movie premieres.  While carrying his camera, Greg has had the opportunity to work with notable athletes, musicians, models and now, brides.  Gregory is a true storyteller at heart and is able to tell stories with his photography.  His intensity, charm, creativity, and sentimental style help him to bring together local professionals in the wedding industry.  He currently serves as President for the Wedding Professionals of Volusia County.  When he’s not photographing special events and leading the WPVC, Greg’s most favorite activity is being a Dad.  He’s an amazing coach, a loyal protector and an outstanding friend.   Greg is the Dad standing in the rain with the umbrella after school on a rainy day.  He’s the one keeping watch for knucklehead kids starting trouble and the one that will regulate like an early western sheriff when duty calls.  One word to describe Greg:  Gravitas!  The man is electric.   Greg would say his finest masterpiece is his adorable, well-mannered and gifted children.  Together, Greg and Corrine provide a loving home while creating priceless images he captures for their clients week after week.

What is Your Motto?
Every day is a gift.  Live every day like it’s your last.

What did you want to become when you were little?
A fighter pilot!  Call sign- MAVERICK.

What are you obsessed about?
My personal life obsession… TRADING.  Yeah, trading UP.  A couple years ago, I got this old boat, fixed it up, and traded it.  Been trading up ever since. I now have 2 vehicles for that old boat including an antique 1973 International Scout II and a twenty-three foot offshore fishing boat.  My trades are on FIRE.

Who are your heroes?
Our US military are my heroes.  They’re fighting and defending our freedom every day.  While I get to play with my kids and be home with my wife every night, there heroic men and women are serving and defending the Red, White & Blue.

What is your favorite accomplishment?
Well, I’ve been MARRIED nearly 13 years!!  That’s my favorite accomplishment!

What makes you laugh?
Facebook!  But mostly myself, I have a hilarious wit and sense of humor.  Seriously I’d say our pets.  We have 2 dogs, 2 ducks, and a horse— and they’re always cracking us up in some way or another.

What do you like the most about the world of Photography?
I love how cherished and precious the moments are that I am privileged to photograph for my clients.  I love the idea that I’m creating priceless photographs that will carry the feelings and emotions of their marriage throughout the days of their life and beyond.

Samantha RoyEvent Designer & Inventory Manager

Samantha has always enjoyed the elements of nature and all that nature encompasses. A native Floridian, Sam’s family activities involved endless days of sun & sand.   Canoe runs down Juniper Springs are some of her fondest childhood memories. When she spent time indoors, she was always organizing, cleaning and crafting—for fun! After taking interior design courses at Advance Technology College, Samantha found that she had a knack for all things design.  Her artful conceptions were inspiring and to her classmates and instructors. Over the years, Samantha has worked in promotions and sales during NASCAR festivities with corporate clients Pugs Sunglasses, Sprint Mobile & Nationwide Insurance. In 2008, Samantha began working at Details to assist in mainly event setups.  Before long, Sam established herself as a very important member of the Details team.  She has been promoted many times over the years, and currently serves as Lead Event Designer & Inventory Manager for events.  At the end of the day, Samantha is a hard working and beautiful perfectionist that strives to create flawless flowers and outstanding events.  You will love working with her.

What is Your Motto?
Keep your face to the sun and you will never see the shadows.

What did you want to become when you were little?
After being in a full body cast at four years old, I always thought I would be an Orthopedic Surgeon.

What are you obsessed about?
Enjoying my life with my loved ones, animals and nature.

Who are your heroes?
A little cliché’ but I’d have to say my mother.  She is a calm soul that is hard working and caring. I have always felt comfortable sharing things with my mother.

What is your favorite accomplishment?
I am terrified of heights! So when I went to Puerto Rico, all my friends jumped off a cliff into the roaring ocean.  So I took a deep breath and jumped.  People always say, would you jump over a cliff if your friends did, and I said, “Yes!”  Over coming the fear was exhilarating.

What makes you laugh?

My dog Boo makes me laugh.   The way she is always speaking to me with her eyes, funny noises, and her awkward ways to always lay in a way that she is touching me.  The times I spend with my three best friends sharing secrets and goofing around are some of the longest, laughs I’ve shared.

What do you like the most about the world of Flowers?
The variety of flowers from all over that I get to gaze at while I work. Every day at work is completely different.  From the clients, to the flowers, to the experiences—nothing is ever the same.
