Announcement: I Love Lucy!

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

My best friend/sorority sister/MOH/bestest-roomie-ever (sorry Greg!)  Julie has been wanting a puppy for what seems like years now!  She has searched and searched and searched, but poor Julie just could not find the right fit, or the right breed… she has not been able to make up her mind and pick the pooch.  Well, as fate would have it, yesterday Julie went to a puppy store in South Florida and her eyes fell upon the cutest and most adorable Maltese puppy.  Now get this– not only was the puppy born on Julie’s birthday- February 10th–  but her documents listed Julianne as the puppy’s mother.  So either the puppy store had Julie tagged before she walked through the door– or someone is sending Julie every sign in the book that this was her dog!  It wasn’t a whim!

Last night, when I received this image from Julie’s cell phone, my heart stopped!!!… and I fell in love with this little dog.  And I’m a cat person!  Gosh, now I want a sweet little white maltese…  Uh oh Greg!!  Congrats on the new addition to the family Julie!  We love you!!

Elizabeth & Chris: The “Perfectly Pink” Wedding Day

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

A gorgeous bride + the handsome boy next door = one amazing wedding celebration for Elizabeth and Chris Cutrano!

Their wedding extravaganza for 125 guests featured amazing elements of design and enchanted whimsy! For the last 8 months, Elizabeth and I discussed her perfect dream wedding– and Elizabeth’s favorite color– PINK! Chris, being the brave and adoring groom, welcomed the color palette and with that, we were off on a fairytale adventure to create a night that would be hard to top. It was a breathtaking evening if I don’t say so myself.  We really embraced PINK!

Liz’ gown, designed by Maggie Sottero, was unbelievably gorgeous and took everyone’s breath away– even Greg’s! When Greg called to tell me about how beautiful Liz looked, I knew that the pictures were going to be incredible. Liz’ bouquet included a delightful mix of Sara Bernhardt peonies, Pink Rananunculus, Sweet Akito Roses, Light Pink Hyacinth and sweetheart roses. The bridesmaids bouquets were similar versions, accented with pink swarovski crystal butterfly pendants– gifts for her 3 bridesmaids.

The traditional Catholic ceremony took place at The Church of the Epiphany in Port Orange, Florida. Immediately following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an extended cocktail reception atop The Shores Resort & Spa. The cocktail reception allowed time for guests to enjoy delicious hors’ deurves of Pecan Crusted Chicken tenders, Brie on Toast pointes;  all while enjoying the ocean view from the rooftop. The cocktail reception tables featured trio’s of oversized pink martini’s, raindrops, and rose stuffed centerpieces.

While the guests enjoyed the cocktail reception, Liz & Chris made it down to the shoreline for some stunning beach imagery with Greg. I love the shots of Liz & Chris against the bright blue sky– incredible!  After their beach session, the newlyweds were able to sneak a peek into their “enchanted” ballroom to get a site of the space undisturbed before the guests entered. Wow! Elizabeth’s face says it all! She was amazed what we accomplished in only a few short hours!  I was so happy to be there to witness her reaction!

We draped the Bill France Ballroom from floor to ceiling in white fabric and accented the entire room with pink uplighting. My team decorated the tables in pink champagne colored linens and a white sheer overlay. Our centerpiece designs featured cherry blossoms, green antique hydrangea, light pink hydrangea, Sara Bernhardt peonies, Sweet Akito roses, pink lisianthus and pink larkspur.   We completed each place setting with a frosted glass charger, white chivari chair, pink champagne napkin– and a personalized menu for each guest.  Liz loved, loved, loved her custom ice luge that presented signature cosmopolitan martinis!  Her favorite drink!

Not a single detail was overlooked. Everything from the placecards– to the guest book– to the sweetheart table were considered when we started planning Liz & Chris’ wedding. Oh! And the cake! The inspiration for the cake was a soft baby pink tinted icing with cherry blossom branches draping down the cake. Each layer was filled with Roasted Almond Cake, pureed strawberries & European Raspberry filling. It was delicious! The top of the cake featured a beautiful Swarovski crystal keepsake. The Pastry Studio, in addition to creating this gorgeous centerpiece, provided an array of delicious desserts for their vienese & coffee table.

Congratulations to Liz & Chris for their new life together. It was a pleasure for Greg, myself and my team to work with your families on the collaboration of your wedding. We wish you a wonderful life together and a fabulous honeymoon in Maui.  I hope that your computer will load all the pictures below– because I think I loaded too many!  There were so many wonderful details and moments from the night to share with everyone!!  Enjoy!

I heart Kim & Clayton

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Sometimes you just know. Friendship that is. Sometimes I just know when those special someone’s walk into my life. I have to say that is exactly what happened the day that Kim & Clayton came to meet with us. We immediately hit it off– and I knew that the journey of meeting the “details” of their wedding would be a very perfect experience for them and for me. I expect that we will be friends for years and years to come. They are an amazing duo– and Kim, I have to say that I LOVE this girl! I can’t wait them to move to Daytona– as I need to see more of her. (wink, wink!)

Their wedding was beautiful and absolutely perfect. It took place in Ormond Beach at the Woodard House on the ocean and the reception was on the river at St. Demetrios Reception Hall. Greg photographed the entire evening with help from a new addition to our team, Lukas– and the always marvelous Kathleen.

We loved being able to help them with all the many aspects of their day– from the flowers, to the linens, to the photography and many, many things in between. Here are collage of some of our favorite moments.

What a treasure you both are– we heart you!
