Adam & Jennifer: Morning Wedding at The Casa Marina

Friday, December 4th, 2009

The Historic Casa Marina Hotel in Jacksonville made for a wonderful & intimate setting for Jennifer & Adam’s early morning wedding.   Only steps from Jacksonville Beach, this location provided an amazing backdrop for their wedding brunch!  With lots of delicious breakfasts foods, and many glasses of mimosa– it was a unique & different celebration!

We really enjoyed working with this wonderful couple.  They were amazing the entire journey of their wedding “production”.  We are so proud to call them friends.  It was a  joy work with them on the florals, photography– and lots of fun things inbetween.  To Jennifer & Adam- we wish you many, many years of love, happiness and friendship.  Congratulations to you both!!

The Club at Hammock Beach: Sundancer Yacht

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

The Sundancer Yacht is a beautiful location to have an intimate wedding gathering or social event.  We were excited when they contacted us for a prestigious event of 16 corporate magazine executives.  Here is the setting they experience while aboard this amazing yacht!  Enjoy! (I snapped the pictures myself with my trusty little Canon, pretty good, huh?)  -Corrine

Keena & Neel: The Wedding Day

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

It’s been a complete whirlwind since we worked with Keena & Neel on their glorious beachside Indian wedding at The Shores Resort & Spa.  We’ve been bouncing back and forth between events since then– and I’ve been a bit behind on my blogging.   Never a days rest!  But alas, their event has arrived for you all to enjoy!

We absolutely adore this beautiful couple– when they look at each other– you can tell that they adore each other too.  They were so lovely to work with throughout the planning of their event– both Greg and I wanted to make each moment perfect!  Every time we got together to discuss their plans– we learned so much about them, their culture and also ourselves.  It was a true pleasure.

Keena really desired an Indian wedding that included all the moments of a traditional Hindu ceremony– but she also wanted to incorporate several Western traditions.  So rather than a reception filled with bold colors or purples and reds, we decided to turn the tables and instead, fill the rooftop reception into a dreamy white escape– bejeweled with White Phaleanopsis orchids, dripping crystals and lots and lots of candles.

In the moments preceeding the ceremony, the rain was drizzeling outside and it seemed that our plans were not going to happen.  In those moments, there are lots of prayers– and many, many eyes tuned towards the weather channel.  Everyone was trying to predict the pattern of Mother Nature.  It was terrible– a decision needed to be made… should we set the ceremony outside as planned with the possibility of torrential rain…?  Or move the ceremony inside a ballroom to be safe?  We started setting everything inside when Neel called Greg to talk it over with him.  Greg, a self-proclaimed “weather guru” watched the patterns, and with that, he assured Neel that he was 100% positive that the storm was turning course. What would Neel decide?

The skies were black as night– and everyone was anxious.  From the looks of it, it was hard to believe that the storm would turn course.  But Neel agreed with Greg– and with both of them against the calls of most everyone else, they made the call to have the ceremony outside.  Everyone started moving things!  And fast!  The Shores staff and my team rushed to create the ceremony of their dreams–OUTSIDE– with nearly NO time.  Not a moment to spare.  In less than 20 minutes, the staging was set, structures were built and flowers were put into place.  We could all feel the raindrops on our shoulders as we were placing the last flowers– and looks of concern were everywhere.  “Please don’t let Greg be wrong!” I thought.  “This could be bad…”  And then… just moments before Neel was to make his grand entrance… the rain stopped…. just as Greg and Neel predicted.  Just like a snap– the blackness fell away.  And a glorious sky made it’s entrance– as if it was on cue from above.   Everyone was amazed… especially me.  And Keena smiled– so happy that all was as it should be.

After bargaining with mother nature for a few hours– the most beautiful day found it’s way for Keena and Neel.  We were all relieved that the ceremony took place just as it should.   With so many intricate details of the ceremony, Greg mentioned later that it brought him to tears.  This was our first Indian wedding– and all of the parts of the ceremony were special to everyone… especially the photog!

The wet reflection on the sand was amazing for pictures– so the pre-rain that caused such a panic ended up to be an amazing gift.  I’m so glad that Greg’s prediction came true and that it didn’t start pouring rain!!!  I can’t imagine that now.  If you can believe it, for the rest of the evening, the entire crowd was thanking Greg.  Yes, I couldn’t believe it.  He was the hero for the night!  Even after all the beautiful pieces our floral team created– nothing could compare to the beautiful gift of the perfect day.

We congratulate you both Keena & Neel on your start together.  We each wish you many, many years loving each other!  It was our pleasure to work with you on all the aspects of your day.  Enjoy!

Priscilla & Garrett: The Wedding Day

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Priscilla & Garrett were a pleasure to photograph.  Their choices in location, wardrobe, hair styling, flowers, and more is what made it an extra special day for everyone.  I had never been to the Oldest House Gardens, but I can say now what a nice venue it is for an outside wedding.  Even older than the house are the Oak trees.  They made plenty of shade while each guest was encouraged to wear a hat and casual attire helping keep everyone comfortable outside.  After the ceremony another great choice in venue the Casa Monica Hotel for the reception made for a memorable evening celebration.  Congratulations to Priscilla & Garrett!

Jessica and Carl: Wildflowers & Romance

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Thinking back on my time working with Jessica and her family brings a smile to my face.  They were really lovely people– with great humor and excitement about Jessica (and Carl’s) wedding.   When we discussed the ideas for the wedding day– it became a very special experience for me.  I love when a bride and her family becomes friends.   It makes the entire experience a great one for everyone! I had such a wonderful time getting to know them– and help them create a very beautiful day.  Truly, the Chapel & Tavern in the Garden is wonderfully romantic.  Any spot on the grounds is picturesque– so adding fresh flowers to the areas mades it incredible.  They wanted a european garden style with a great selection of romantic colors and wildflowers!  The tablescapes were overhanging arrangements of garden roses, larkspur, stock, and hydrangea with real Victorian Lavender on each placesetting.  Jessica wanted themes with old, european charm with a hint of glamour mixed in, so the crystals helped to create that.  The ceremony in the Chapel was candlelit, and included buckets of wildflowers lining the aisleway.  These arrangements were transported upstairs in the Tavern after the ceremony concluded– so it was great way to “recycle” these arrangements to another place in the day for enjoyment later.  The cocktail hour spilled over into the garden near Snow White’s Cottage– the weather was perfect– so it was great to enjoy the outside areas.  I hear that the candlelit reception took ones breath away– and I have to admit, I don’t think a single detail was overlooked.   My favorite part, however, had nothing to do with our flower creations, but candy.  The candy table that we helped to create for the event… it was the “cherry on top!!”  (I snuck a couple of giant sweettarts– well, just because I couldn’t resist!

Stephanie & Ralph: The Wedding Date

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Twenty guests.  Grand Lawn overlooking the Atlantic.  Gorgeous Clouds.  Amazing Flowers.   Delicious Cake.  This was the the wedding of Stephanie & Ralph at The Club at Hammock Beach;  it was elegant, simple… and really, really beautiful.  It had all the details of any grand affair– and to be a guest, well, that was really a treat.

The night was perfect.  Stephanie looked like a goddess in her floor length Chiffon styled dress.  As I watched from across the lawn, she moved with a grace, sophistication and confidence that I admired… it was her wedding day.  And, yes, she was a beautiful bride… it was obvious.
