Here are some pictures from Brooke & Joseph’s engagement session just a few days ago.  They traveled to some of our favorite coastal locations to capture these shots.  We are very much looking forward to your wedding this coming April.  Congratulations to you both!

During the following summer, they took a romantic vacation to Aruba for one week. Samantha figured if they were going to get engaged– it would certainly be on this adventure to a new land.  Well, the proposal didn’t happen in Aruba.  On the way home, their return flight went through New York, allowing them to spend the evening in New York for one night. Gene had mentioned that he had something special planned for Samantha– as he loved Thai cuisine.  He took her out to an amazing Thai restaurant.  And after dinner, Gene took Samantha thru a carriage ride in Central Park.  Sam simply thought it was a great way to end their escapade through Aruba and New York.

Little did she know, something else was in the works.  Greg stopped the carriage and decided they needed to take a stroll through the Central Park.  And just when Samantha wasn’t expecting it, she turned to see that Gene had got down on one knee and pulled out a ring!  What a surprise for Sam.  She immediately said, “Yes!”

Congratulations to you both!  Greg and I are so excited for your wedding next year at The White Room in St. Augustine!  Looking forward to this beautiful and romantic day… you were so much fun to photograph.  We can’t wait!

Tradition states that the bride’s parents are responsible for fronting the bill for the wedding reception; these days, the bride’s parents, groom’s parents, and the couple themselves all contribute to the wedding pool.  That said, it helps to come to the budgeting table prepped with the traditional list of which side pays for what.  These conventional “rules” can then be adjusted according to your financial situations:

Wedding Costs Paid by the Bride and/or Bride’s Parents:

  • Ceremony rental fee
  • Bride’s dress and accessories
  • Ceremony flowers and décor
  • Bouquets for bridesmaids and flower girl
  • Photography and videography
  • Engagement party
  • Bridesmaids’ luncheon
  • All vendor services for reception, including food, beverages, décor, and entertainment
  • Groom’s ring

Well, this Featured LOVE STORY is about our friend Ashley and her amazing husband Ryan.  They were married last August 2010 at Paradise Cove in Orlando.  It was a rockin’ wedding- let me tell you!  So much fun… and just simply beautiful.

This week we learned some exciting news.  One month ago, when Ashley posted to facebook that she just couldn’t stop smiling– Greg and I look at each other and said, “I bet Ashley’s Pregnant!”  Well, last week she finally announced to everyone that she is expecting a baby!!  We are so excited for the two of them… they are going to make great parents.  In honor of their fantastic news– we are featuring this amazing couple!!  Here are the pictures from their beautiful wedding.  We can’t wait to meet your lil’ nugget!!

The theme for the wedding were the colors of Sunset- rich plums, oranges, yellows and pinks.  The flowers were native to South Africa- where Ashley’s father was born.  The ceremony and reception took place at Paradise Cove in Orlando, Florida.  Enjoy!

]]> http://www.flowersandphotography.com/blog/ashley-ryan-the-wedding-day/feed/ 0 Kate & Kyle: The Wedding Day http://www.flowersandphotography.com/blog/kate-kyle-the-wedding-day/ http://www.flowersandphotography.com/blog/kate-kyle-the-wedding-day/#comments Mon, 03 Oct 2011 21:57:26 +0000 admin2 http://www.flowersandphotography.com/blog/?p=2824 Kate & Kyle’s wedding at The River House in St. Augustine was a treasure for us to photograph.  I (Corrine) have known Kyle since we were in grade school.  Kyle actually played Little League with my brother.  He was in my 11th grade English class.  Kyle was one of the boys who tortured me relentlessly (all in good fun, of course!), but he was cool.   Greg actually became friends with Kyle while in college at FSU.  Aside from my introduction– Greg and Kyle were already friends.  Together, we’ve know Kyle for years and years.  Kyle has always been a friendly reminder that good guys do exist.

Well, Kyle called this past winter to say that he’d found the love of his life… and that he was getting married… we were so ecstatic excited for the both of them.  We were introduced to Kate in St. Augustine when we took a trip over to have lunch with them both.  I must say, Kate is the perfect match for Kyle.  And together, they make a beautiful couple.   Greg and I couldn’t be more happy for the two of them.  They chose to get married at one of St. Augustine’s newest venues– The River House.  It is a beautiful 4 star venue nestled along the Matanzas River.  I love this location.  It’s a great spot.

Thank you Kyle and Kate for choosing us photograph your wedding day.   We loved every minute of it.  It truly was a fun night of love, laughter, friendship and great memories.  Congratulations to you both!

Here are some shots that I took of our flowers.  We can’t wait to see the final collateral that is being produced to showcase this remarkable convention center in Volusia County.  Enjoy!!

When they were engaged in Savannah last year, we knew it was going to be an amazing wedding to be a part of. When they came to us to photograph their wedding day– and to create beautiful flowers & decor- we were honored. Greg and I love to collaborate our two skills- and when it is for friends- it really makes the wedding a special day for us too.

Tyler and Jenna dreamed of a romantic wedding- and they wanted it to take place in one of their favorite cities- St. Augustine. Just a short drive down the coast, they chose The Casa Monica to host the festivities. I must say, it was the perfect place for guests to share in their romance and witness the beautiful occasion first hand.

Every space was dripping with gorgeous Black Magic & Hearts garden roses. And candles everywhere. It was very romantic… And also very special with the classic moments and traditions that make up a wedding day. We loved all the wonderful elements that they included.

Here are some of our favorite images of the day. To our beautiful friends- Congratulations! We cannot wait to see your family grow and see what life has in store for you both.
