Avery was so excited about her 9th birthday. For two month preceeding her “Big Day”, we were bomb-barded with the many scenarios of an 8 years olds dream birthday party. Given that I do parties for a living– my eldest daughter had high expections for her ninth. And well, so did I. Avery wasn’t going to let me forget that this was a very important birthday– and for this– mom was put to the test!
Well, just a few weeks back, Greg and I created an “Alice in Wonderland” themed table for the VYB’s annual bridal show– and with all the excitement around that table– it was the P-E-R-F-E-C-T theme for our Ave’s birthday. I have to say, it was really a sweet day– and the PERFECT PARTY. If I were 9 again, I would have fell over! It was really too much– but I couldn’t resist bringing in all these elements. The party intrigued the senses in every way.
Avery’s friends were invited to spend the afternoon in a “Mad Hatters Style” for a birthday celebration at the Tavern in the Garden in Port Orange. The Tavern in the Garden was the perfect backdrop to have such a special party. Kellie & Katie, the incredibly delightful sales team at the Tavern, reminded me of the beautiful “Snow White’s Cottage” on the property. This house is tucked quaintly amidst the gardens of the Tavern. It was the perfect place– a tiny, handcrafted wooden cottage– perfect for 8 little girls to run, jump, dance, giggle, eat, and be merry! For the afternoon, it was their magical house filled with garden gnomes, lily pads, fish ponds (& turtles) and lots of beautiful flowers. The plans came together magnificently– and I have to say, we have one very happy 9 year old.
There were tons of great details throughout the day, including special “Eat Me” cupcakes by The Pastry Studio. They were so yummmmy! Sherri always has the perfect finishing touch to any great party. Avery’s birthday wouldn’t have been the same without those! And each little girl got a “Drink Me” concoction made from a delightful brew of punch.
We had an egg hunt for the golden egg– a birthday-cake-pinata filled with loads of candy, a delicious lunch, and wonderful time with friends.
The Tavern in the Garden is the perfect spot to host such a party– A Special thank you to Kellie & Katie for helping us throw such an amazing afternoon for our daughter. Her friends and family had a delightful afternoon. Everyone loved EVERYTHING! We are looking forward to helping create magical moments for many more children at your wonderful location.
